Serge Hayat serves as president of the strategic committee of the ESSEC Chair of Cultural Industries, Arts, and Creative Technologies, a teaching and research chair that builds on the legacy of the Media & Digital Chair, which he founded in 2005. With 20 years of expertise and a network of over 400 alumni, the Chair evolved in 2025 to encompass all cultural and creative industries, whose ongoing disruptions are accelerating the sector’s transformation.

Goals

• Master the management of cultural and creative industries and their technological disruptions.
• Excel in navigating business models and managing creative talent.
• Lead technological innovation and generative AI within creative processes.

Conceived as a transdisciplinary space for reflection, co-creation, and experimentation, the Chair brings together a collective of ESSEC professors, artists, industry professionals, and partner companies. Its mission is to prepare students to meet the deep transformations affecting cultural and creative industries. The program is intended for students of the ESSEC MSc who wish to pursue careers in media and the cultural industries.
